The Lowcountry Estuarium

Though our Paris Ave. facility has been closed we are pleased to announce that beginning Monday, November 21st the public will be able to visit the interim home of the Estuarium's creatures. For the near future they will reside in the art gallery of the Estuarium's curator, Bob Bender, at 630 16th St. Ext. in Port Royal. Visitation is available seven days a week by APPOINTMENT ONLY by calling 843-524-6600 or 843-263-7969 or email estuarium@islc.net. And yes, the critters will be fed during your visit. There is no fee but donations will be greatly appreciated. Look for our new website with several new features coming soon.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

estuarium map port royal From US-21 in Beaufort: Take Ribaut Road (which joins SR 802 in Port Royal) or follow US-21 across the Woods Bridge and turn right onto Lady's Island Drive (SR-802) at Walgreens. Cross the bridge and turn left at the light. From SR-802 in Port Royal, turn left onto Paris Avenue at the light; you will see the City of Port Royal monument. Once on Paris Avenue, look for us on the left side of the road at the corner of 14th Street.

From the Broad River Bridge (SR-170 North): Turn right onto SR-802 and follow it into Port Royal. Turn right onto SR-281 which ends at Paris Avenue. Turn right onto E. Paris Avenue. Look for us on the left side of the road at the corner of 14th Street, next to the park adjacent to Port Royal Elementary School.
